Walter Wehner (born October 2, 1949 in Werdohl , Märkischer Kreis ) is a German author.

Life

Wehner grew up in Essen and studied German and art history. In 1978 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the subject of weaver revolts and weavers' misery in nineteenth-century poetry.

His professional career included book trade and university activities, as well as the long-term management of the department for cultural education at the Volkshochschule Essen. He has been retired since 2012.

Walter Wehner writes poems and prose, radio plays and plays, and occasionally specialist literature. He runs an extensive lyric archive with currently around 5,000 editions as well as a website on the subject of Robinsonades.

Wehner took part in sponsorship seminars organized by the Bertelsmann Foundation in Straelen and the Nordkolleg in Rendsburg. Together with the Essen writer Reinhard Jahn , he forms the author duo Karr-Wehner . Numerous works by the duo have received awards.

Karr-Wehner published detective novels, short stories and radio plays that were played by almost all ARD stations. Their first joint novel Geierfrühling was published in autumn 1994 by Haffmans Verlag Zurich, the second volume about the hero Gonzo Gonschorek followed with Rattensommer in summer 1995. In 1999 the Bullenwinter concluded the series of novels. Since then, short stories about the video reporter Gonzo have appeared in loose succession.

Private

Wehner is married and has two daughters. He lives in Iserlohn .
