Walter Wolf (born March 1, 1953 in Riedstadt , Hessen ) is a German journalist and photographer specializing in automotive technology and history. He publishes in car magazines in Germany , the Netherlands , Switzerland , Austria , Great Britain , Sweden and Finland . He runs his own publishing house, in which, in addition to automotive topics, he also publishes dialect and a scientific series.

Life

After graduating from high school in Gernsheim in 1972 , Walter Wolf studied German and politics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the Philipps University in Marburg . In 1978 he completed his studies with the state examination in Frankfurt. From 1978 to 1980 he was DAAD lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä , Finland. From 1980 to 1985, he worked as a research assistant at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In addition, from 1984 to 1985, Wolf was a member of the editorial board of the newsletter of the Medievalist Association. In 1986 he left the scientific community and worked until 1991 as an editor at VF-Verlag for the publications Oldtimer Markt and Oldtimer Praxis .

He then went into business for himself and has been working as a freelance writer, photographer and entrepreneur ever since. In 1992 he founded Autovision-Verlag, Hamburg, with two other colleagues in the industry. In 1997 he left the company and founded Walter Wolf-Verlag in 1997, for which he works as managing director and author.

Together with his father Günther Wolf, Walter Wolf has been publishing the Riedstadt dictionaries since 2002. The publishing program also includes a scientific series with a focus on Georg Büchner , who was born in Riedstadt-Goddelau .

Walter Wolf has been married to Camilla Wolf from Finland since 1975 and has a son and a daughter. He won the Leica Photography Prize in 1982 and lives in Riedstadt.
