Walther Bullerdiek (born January 24, 1901 in Hamburg ; † October 2, 1971 in Bad Bevensen ) was a German actor , radio play speaker and composer .

Life

Like his fellow actors Otto Lüthje and Hans Langmaack , Walther Bullerdiek had learned the profession of teacher and continued to practice it during his time as an actor. In 1922 he came to Richard Ohnsorg's Niederdeutsche Bühne , later the Ohnsorg Theater , and was a member of the house until his death. In addition to acting, Bullerdiek wrote anecdotes and short stories and composed the music for Low German stage plays and radio plays. On his 65th birthday, the Ohnsorg Theater honored him with a matinee in 1966.

Walther Bullerdiek has also been active as a speaker in Low German radio plays since the 1920s, initially for the newly founded Nordische Rundfunk AG (NORAG), later for Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk , then for Norddeutscher Rundfunk .

In 1944 Walther Bullerdiek, who had appeared on stage in several hundred roles during his career, married his colleague Magda Bäumken . He died after a long and serious illness in October 1971, and the following year he could have celebrated his 50th stage anniversary. Walther Bullerdiek was buried next to his wife in the so-called "poet's corner" at the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg. After the tomb was over, the common tombstone was brought to the women's garden .
