Walther Hohmann

Ernst Paul Walther Hohmann (born October 6, 1883 in Quedlinburg ; † unknown) was a German National Socialist senior school clerk.

Hohmann passed his Abitur in Quedlinburg in 1904. He studied history and ancient languages ​​in Freiburg / Br., Berlin and Halle adS up to the state examination in 1908. At the same time he did his doctorate in Halle adS and in 1909/10 he did his military service in Spandau . During his studies he became a member of the Franconia Freiburg fraternity in 1904 . His teacher training took place in Greifswald and Quedlinburg, and he took up his first position in Mühlhausen . From 1911 he taught at the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Gymnasium Greifswald . During the First World War he acquired the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st class before retiring from the military in 1919. In 1920 he became director of studies in Eschwege . From 1922 to 1934 he headed the Fichte-Gymnasium in Hagen , from May 1934 the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne , and later he was still a senior school officer in Magdeburg . In 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP, was a Gausach staff member of the NS-teachers' association for history in Cologne-Aachen and advocated racism and anti-Semitism in textbooks. In 1942 he recommended aligning the curriculum with the Napolas . With Wilhelm Schiefer, senior director of studies in Kleve , he wrote the National Socialist textbook People and Empire of the Germans .
