Walther Pessl

Walther Pessl (born January 20, 1886 in Freistadt , † November 11, 1962 in Vienna ) was an Austrian chemist and politician . He was a member of the Vienna State Parliament (1951–1954).

Life

Born as the son of a city doctor, after attending grammar school in Freistadt , he studied chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna , which he obtained as a Dipl.-Ing. completed. During his studies in 1903 he became a member of the Upper Austrian Germanic fraternity in Vienna. In 1928 he became president of the Austrian Aero Club . From 1946 to 1952 he was a member of the district council (Bezirksrat) in the 7th district of Vienna . In 1951 he was elected to the Vienna State Parliament, to which he belonged until 1954. He was also a member of the Vienna City Council and belonged to the ÖVP .
