The Lake Wamala or Lake Wamala is a lake in the districts of Mubende , Mityana and Gomba in Uganda .
economy
Strongly represented fish species are Oreochromis niloticus , Clarias gariepinus and Protopterus aethiopicus . Fish production in the lake collapsed due to overfishing of 4,000–6,000 tonnes annually in the 1960s, with a peak of 7100 tonnes in 1967 in the 1970s and around 500 tonnes in the 1990s.
