Wang Meng ( Chinese 王蒙 , Pinyin Wáng Méng ; * 1308 ; † 1385 ) was a Chinese landscape painter of the 14th century, who was best known in the West for the fact that in 2011 a picture called Zhichuan's move for 402.5 million yuan (62, 1 million US $) was sold, at the time just behind a work by Qi Baishi, it was the second most expensive picture by an Asian of all time.
Life
Wang, a grandson of Zhao Mengfu and Guan Daosheng , belonged to the group of the "Four Masters" of landscape painting of the Yuan period . Like Huang Gongwang , Wu Zhen and Ni Zan , he refused to work for the Mongol occupiers. Wang was the youngest of the group and was stylistically different from them in his broader line.

The Ming painter Dong Qichang was heavily influenced by him.
