The Wangengeim Glacier ( Russian Ледник Вангенгейма Lednik Wangengeima ) is a 10 km long glacier in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It flows from the area east of the Mentzelberg in the eastern Otto-von-Gruber Mountains in the direction of the Seekopf .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs by participants in the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping based on additional aerial photographs and measurements was carried out by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) and by Soviet scientists between 1960 and 1961. The latter named the glacier after the Soviet meteorologist Georgi Wangengeim (1886–1961).
