The Mentzelberg is a 2330 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 10 km west of the Zimmermannberg in the Otto von Gruber Mountains .
It was discovered and named during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . It is named after Rudolf Mentzel (1900–1987), from 1936 President of the German Research Foundation .
