Wanla is a place in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh .
The place is in the Tehsil Khalatse on the Yapola , which is also called the Wanla River . The Wanla Monastery is located in Wanla. Lha chen Naglug (circa 1150–1175), a Dard king built a fortress in Wanla, the remains of which are still visible today.
According to the 2011 census, 1015 people lived in Wanla. The literacy rate was 57.14%.
