The tub head is 1722  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Allgäu Alps . It lies northeast of Gerstruben and is forested on its west side up to the summit. To the east it falls with steep grass flanks interspersed with rocks into a gully that borders it to the east. The meadows near the peaks were previously used for hay extraction.

There are no marked hiking trails on the tub head. Since it is lower than the ridge to the north of it (the ridge that extends from the Höfats to the northwest), it is of no touristic importance.
