The coat of arms of Limburg is a passenger ship on the Lahn and is used as a day trip ship in regular services and for themed trips. The ship is operated by the Lahntalschiffahrt Vomfell and is approved for a maximum of 250 passengers.
The ship with the hull number 222 was built in 1987 at the Schmidt shipyard in Remagen - Oberwinter for the Heldmann passenger ship by the owner Hans Rudolf Heldmann. From spring to autumn, the ship operated liner services on the Lahn between Limburg and Balduinstein . The travel program was supplemented by themed, company and charter trips. In winter the ship was an inn at the Limburg lock.
In the summer of 2012, Hans Rudolf Heldmann sold his business to Josef Vomfell, who has been running the shipping company and the Limburg coat of arms since then as the Vomfell Lahntalschiffahrt. From April (Easter) to the end of October, trips are made on the Lahn between the landing stages in Limburg, Diez and Balduinstein. The travel program is supplemented by tours to Dietkirchen and Dehrn Castle , to Oranienstein Castle and charter trips.
The ship
The ship is 32.36 meters long and 5.05 meters wide. The maximum draft is 1.10 meters. The Limburg coat of arms is powered by two diesel engines from Deutz AG of the type BF4M1013EC with 125 HP each with two Schottel rudder propellers and an Iveco diesel engine of type 8041SRC25 with 75 HP. The ship is equipped with a bow thruster . The ship is approved for 250 passengers.
