Tomáš Hořava (born May 29, 1988 in Brno , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech national football player . He is under contract with the Czech first division club Viktoria Plzen .
Career
society
At the age of 15, Hořava joined the youth team at SK Sigma Olomouc . There he played in the youth teams up to the U-19, from which he rose to the professional team in 2007. He had previously made his debut in the Czech first division on October 16, 2006 in the 2-0 defeat by FK Jablonec when he was substituted on for Vojtěch Štěpán in the 80th minute of the game . From the 2008/09 season he rose to become a regular player and played regularly. This season he scored on August 31, 2008, the 6th matchday, in the 1: 2 defeat against FK Mladá Boleslav his first professional goal. In the summer of 2013 he moved to reigning Czech champions Viktoria Pilsen for a transfer fee of € 750,000 and replaced Vladimír Darida, who had migrated to SC Freiburg, in the central midfield . On September 17, 2013 he played in the 3-0 home defeat against Manchester City for the first time in the Champions League, in the 2-4 defeat in the second leg he met there for the first time. With Pilsen he became Czech champion in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
National team
Hořava made his debut on September 9, 2008 in the 0-1 defeat in the European Championship qualifier against Ukraine for the Czech U-21 national team . With the Czech Republic, he took part in the U-21 European Football Championship 2011 in Denmark. There he reached the semi-finals with the Czech Republic, in which they lost 1-0 to Switzerland . The game for third place, in which the Czech Republic could have qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games with a win , was also lost 1-0 against Belarus . Hořava himself only played in the preliminary round match against Ukraine and in the game for third place.
On November 14, 2012, Hořava made his debut for the Czech national team in a 3-0 win against Slovakia . In the 2-0 victory in the friendly against Canada on November 15, 2013, he scored his first international goal for the Czech Republic.
