David Limberský (born October 6, 1983 in Pilsen ) is a Czech football player .

Club career

David Limberský began playing football with Tatran Třemošná. After a friendly game against Viktoria Pilsen in 1990 , he was signed by its officials. In Pilsen Limberský went through all junior teams and made his debut in the 2002/03 season in the men's team of the second division, which rose to the Gambrinus league .

At the U-20 World Cup in 2003 in the United Arab Emirates , the midfielder fell on the scouts of FC Modena , whereupon the Serie A league club Limberský loaned out for half a year. The Czech played four games in Modena , but could not prevail and returned to Viktoria Pilsen in summer 2004, who had just been relegated to the second division.

In early 2005, David Limberský moved to Tottenham Hotspur on loan , but remained in the Premier League in 2005/06 without a use. Once again he returned to his home club in Pilsen and played 44 first division games in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons, in which he scored seven goals. For the 2007/08 season Limberský was obliged by the Czech champions and cup winners Sparta Prague . In summer 2008 he returned to Pilsen. With Victoria, he was in 2011 and 2013 respectively Czech champion and took part in the Champions League.

National team

David Limberský played nine times in the Czech U-20 team , scoring four goals. Limberský played eleven times in the U-21 national team and scored his only goal in a 6-0 win against Armenia on September 7, 2005.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Czech squad . He played the first two games against Spain and Croatia over the full playing time, in the decisive game against Turkey he stayed on the bench. The game was lost and the team was eliminated.
