In the coat of arms of Madrid , a Spanish administrative unit , there are two golden forts next to each other in red with an open passage and three open windows on which three yellow tinned towers, the middle one is the higher, protrude and above it seven (4; 3) silver five-pointed stars hover.

Above the coat of arms is a stylized golden crown with a common cross on top.
