Heraldic pillar
Thutmose III. built in the temple city of Karnak u. a. many obelisks, colossal figures and the heraldic pillars .
meaning
The pillars of the coat of arms reflect the idea of the national unity of Egypt like hardly any other monument. Each side of the pillars is decorated with relief-like plants from the regions. The papyrus (in the north) represents Lower Egypt and the lily (in the south) Upper Egypt .
architecture
The pillar symbols with a height of 6.77 meters were erected in front of the entrance in the Annalensaal of the barque sanctuary and are made of red granite. Thutmose III. adorned them with reports of his campaigns in Syria .
