Warrior Soul

Warrior Soul is an American hard rock and metal band from New York City .

Band history

The band founded by Kory Clarke is first mentioned around 1987. During the era of George HW Bush's presidency , some of the band's songs were political in nature. The drummer was the former Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson.

The debut Last Decade Dead Century in 1990 offered a mixture of hard rock and post-punk , and the recently emerging grunge was already anticipated. The band signed with Geffen Records . The following albums were toured with Danzig and Soundgarden , among others . Some shows with Queensrÿche on the tour for Salutions from the Ghetto Nation were less successful.

The 1993 album Chill Pill was deliberately hard and loud in order to get Geffen's expulsion, which it succeeded. Space Age Playboys followed in 1994 . The band gained more attention in Europe than in the US before it was disbanded in 1995. In 1996 a posthumous collection appeared with Odds & Ends . After the band ended, Kory Clarke first worked with Billy Duffy from The Cult and then founded the Space Age Playboys . In 2005, Mark Evans, drummer on three albums, was murdered.

Reunion

In March 2007, Kory Clarke reformed the band and began work on new songs. A limited album titled Chinese Democracy was released in October 2008, just a month before the long-heralded Guns-N'-Roses album of the same name was released. Warrior Soul renamed theirs Destroy the War Machine and re-released it. In 2009 the band went on a European tour for this purpose. Kory Clarke currently lives in Berlin, where he runs a solo project with the musicians of the hard rock band Stashbox.
