At the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City , Baryschewa finished fifth over 5000 m ahead of Anni Friesinger .
She celebrated her greatest success in the team run with the Russian team. Here she won the bronze medal at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin - together with Jekaterina Abramowa , Galina Lichatschowa , Jekaterina Lobysheva and Svetlana Vysokova .
