The reservoir Réservoir Manic 3 is located on the Rivière Manicouagan , about 75 km north of Baie-Comeau in the Canadian province of Québec .

It is formed by the Barrage Manic-3 dam , which was built between 1970 and 1976 (at 49 ° 44 ′ 25 ″  N , 68 ° 35 ′ 34 ″  W ).

The associated storage power plant Centrale René-Lévesque (at 49 ° 44 ′ 27 ″  N , 68 ° 35 ′ 40 ″  W ) is located in a cavern . It has an installed capacity of 1244  MW (6 Francis turbines ) and uses a hydraulic potential of 94 m.

The power plant was renamed in June 2010 in honor of the former Prime Minister of Québec, René Lévesque .
