Detail of the water tower

The Neukölln water tower is the largest still existing Berlin water tower.

The private Charlottenburger Wasserwerke AG built a waterworks between Mittelweg and Leykestrasse in 1887 to supply Rixdorf (today Berlin-Neukölln ). Between 1893 and 1894 the architect Otto Techow added a 40 meter high water tower , which was built on the highest point of the Rollberg .

The tower has a diameter of 22 meters and a riveted loft container of 2240 m³ at a height of 30 meters . Because of the similarity, the Neukölln Tower is often compared to the Juliusturm in Spandau .

Today the monument is no longer operated as a water tower and is only used for celebrations and events.
