Vasily I. Tupikov

Wassili Iwanowitsch Tupikow ( Russian Василий Иванович Тупиков , born December 31, 1901 in Kursk , † September 20, 1941 ) was a Soviet officer, most recently lieutenant general . He worked as a military attaché of the Soviet Union in Berlin until the start of the German-Soviet War .

At the beginning of the war, Lieutenant General Tupikov served as Chief of Staff of the Soviet Southwest Front under the leadership of Colonel General Michail Kirponos . Both officers died on September 20, 1941 in the Kessel Battle near Kiev .
