Vasily Klyuchevsky ( Russian Василий Осипович Ключевский , scientific. Transliteration Vasilij Osipovic Ključevskij * 16 . Jul / 28. January  1841 greg. In Wosnessenskoje ( Penza province ); † 12 jul. / 25. May  1911 greg. In Moscow) was an eminent Russian historian.

His main work is the five-volume course russkoj istorii (“Course Russian History”, first printed 1904–1922, published in German as “Russian History: From Peter the Great to Nicholas I”. Zurich: Artemis-Verlag, 1945).

Klyuchevsky was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences .
