Waving the Guns ( WTG ) is a German hip-hop - group from Rostock . She is currently under contract with Audiolith Records .
Band history
Waving the Guns was founded in Rostock at the end of 2012 by the two rappers Milli Dance and Admiral Adonis and the two producers Dub Dylan and Doktor Damage. The band released their first extended play Schadenfreude in 2013 . In 2014 the EP Skilled Labor Shortage followed and in 2014 the debut album Schlachtrufe WTG . These publications were available as a free download. In 2014 Waving the Guns toured with the punk band Feine Sahne Fischfilet and in 2019 with the rap group MDMH , in which Doktor Damage is also represented.
In September 2015 the video for Pflaster appeared on the YouTube channel of the Audiolith Records label. Shortly afterwards, the band announced their collaboration with the Hamburg independent label . This was followed in October by the video for the certificate of poverty with Mob MC as a guest star. On October 30, 2015, the album Totschlagargumente was finally released as an LP via Audiolith Records and as a download via Audiolith , Amazon , iTunes , Spotify and Google Play .
On January 27, 2017, their second album, one hand breaks the other, was released via Audiolith Records.
On December 27, 2018, it was announced that Admiral Adonis will be leaving the group.
Music style and lyrics
Waving the Guns do political rap with a clear anti-fascist attitude. They have some party songs about alcohol and drug use. Musically they were influenced by Audio88 & Yassin , Zugezogen Masculin , Morlockk Dilemma and Disarstar, among others .
