Wdzydze ( Kashubian Jezoro Wdzydzczé , also known as Polish Kaszubskie Morze or kasch. Kaszëbsczé mòrze ; German Wdzydze-See or Wdzidsensee , later Weitsee ) is a lake in Poland in the Pomeranian Voivodeship .
The 10.7 km² large, highly branched lake, rich in islands and peninsulas, is located in the powiat Kościerski in the Pomeranian part of the Kashubian Switzerland , the central region of the Kashubian Lake District . The water level of the up to 68 m deep lake is 133 m npm. The Wda (black water) flows through it, which flows into the Vistula at Świecie (Schwetz) .
The two villages are located five kilometers apart as the crow flies on its eastern bank:
- Wdzydze Kiszewskie (Kash. Kiszewsczé Wdzëdzé , German until 1874 Wdzidzen , later Sanddorf ), mainly known as a museum village (Kashubian Ethnographic Park), in the rural municipality of Kościerzyna ;
- Wdzydze Tucholskie (Kasch. Tëchòlsczé Wdzëdzé , Ger. Wdzydze , since 1875 Weitsee ) in the rural municipality of Karsin .
