The Wda ( German Black Water ) is a left tributary of the Vistula in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the former West Prussia , whose headwaters lie southeast of the city of Bytów (Bütow) in Western Pomerania . The length of the river is 210 km, the area of the catchment area 2345 km².
The Wda has its origin in Równina Charzykowska , where it rises from the Karpno Lake near the place Osława Dąbrowa, Studzienice (Stüdnitz) near Bytów. It flows through the large Kashubian water and then flows through the Tucheler Heide . It flows into the Vistula at Świecie (Schwetz) .
In character, the Wda is a flatland river . Nevertheless, it is relatively varied (from the mountain stream to the wide, sluggishly flowing river). Bends, often high and in some places steep wooded banks as well as openings determine the course.
