Odry (German Odri ) is a Polish village in the municipality of Czersk in the Pomeranian Voivodeship , Powiat Chojnicki . From 1975 to 1998 the place was administratively part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship .

Kamienne Kręgi Reserve

Kamienne Kręgi

The Kamienne Kręgi Reserve ( Stone Circles ) is located in the vicinity of the village . This is the largest of its kind in Poland and the second largest in Europe. It is a collection of ten complete and two partially preserved stone circles, probably a cemetery of the Goths from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.

The stone circles have a diameter of 15 to 33 m. In each stone circle there are 16 to 29 stones that protrude 20 to 70 cm from the earth. In addition to the stone circles, there are also tumuli on the territory of the reserve . Around 600 graves were uncovered in stone circles and burial mounds.

On September 15, 1958, the reserve area was placed under nature protection. This was done not only to preserve the archaeological object, but also to protect over 86 types of lichens (usually only found in high mountains) that grow on 300 stones. The reserve area covers approximately 17 hectares.
