Tleń ( German Klingermühle ) is a village in the powiat Świecki of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the rural municipality of Osie and lies on the railway line Jezewo – Szlachta – Czersk .

geography

Tleń is located on a reservoir of the river Wda (Black Water ) in the center of the Bory Tucholskie (Tucheler Heide). There is a train station, several rest homes and bungalow parks as well as an open-air cinema.

Since around 1415 there was a mill at the mouth of the Prusina river in the Wda, around which a settlement called Inschen was built. Later the names changed: Klinger, Klingermühle, Klinger Mühle, Tleń. The current place name can be traced back to a type of fish from the carp family: Kleń ( Leuciscus cephalus , German chub).

Tleń has been a well-known tourist destination since the beginning of the 20th century. The majority of the inhabitants live from tourism. A large part of the buildings are holiday homes. The Wdecki Landscape Park stretches around Tleń .

In the years 1975-1998 the place was administratively part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship .
