The Weatherwax Glacier is a Kar glacier in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Kukri Hills it flows from a 800 m high mountain basin south of Mount Barnes to a narrow glacier tongue that ends on a cliff, 200 m above the New Harbor .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2000 after the American physicist Allan T. Weatherwax from the University of Maryland , who carried out ten field research campaigns between 1988 and 1999 to investigate the atmosphere , ionosphere and magnetosphere at McMurdo Station and the Amundsen-Scott -South Pole Station .
