Webedia is a French company with a focus on media and especially Internet offers based in Levallois-Perret .

In May 2013, the majority shares in Webedia were taken over by the French Fimalac group.

The company currently operates over 50 Internet offers, in particular from the areas of film , video games , cooking, fashion and e-sports . According to the company, these pages reach up to 90 million visitors per month across all devices (as of March 2016).

In addition, Webedia is also active in the field of multi-channel networks and web video, in Germany with the allyance network, among others.

history

In its current form, Webedia was founded in 2007 by Cédric Siré and Guillaume Multrier with the offers PurePeople, PureTrends and PureFans. In 2008 the fashion portal Shopoon, which was later renamed PureFashion, was added. In the course of time, other, especially internet-based offers were purchased (Ozap, OverBlog, Jeuxvideo.com, Moviepilot, Gamestar IGN and others).

In 2013, the shareholders of Webedia agreed that the Fimalac Group would take over the majority of Webedia. As of December 2015, Fimalac's stake was 79.2%.
