Weckbach is a district of the market Weilbach in the Lower Franconian district of Miltenberg .
geography
The church village Weckbach is located in the Odenwald in the valley of the Ohrbach on the district road MIL 6 between Wiesenthal and Weilbach. In the village the Gönzbach flows into the Ohrbach. To the southwest of the village is the village of Gönz , to the north is Mainbullau .
history
Weckbach was first mentioned in 1266 as "Weggebach". In the years 1840, 1879 and 1880 the formerly independent communities Wiesenthal , Gönz and Ohrbach were added. In 1977 Weckbach was incorporated into Weilbach.
The economist Norbert Walter was born in Weckbach .
