The White Cohesive Aries Bock ( Chlorophorus sartor ) is a beetle from the family of longhorn beetles .

description

The 6 to 10 mm large beetles are black or brown in color. They have an elongated cylindrical body. The pronotum is approximately spherical in shape. Like most rams, the white-headed ram has a noticeable mark on the wing covers . This includes two white bands. In addition, the ends of the wing covers are colored whitish.

Occurrence

The distribution area includes the European Mediterranean area. To the north, the occurrence extends to Central Europe, in the east via Asia Minor and the Caucasus to the Near and Middle East (northern Iran). In Germany, the heat-loving beetle species occurs in the southwest.

Way of life

The species is polyphagous . The larvae develop in different deciduous trees over the course of two years. These include in particular the sweet chestnut and the common robinia . Other host plants are: beech , Atlantic pistachio , Jerusalem thorn , European hornbeam , European hackberry , locust , dogwood , Real fig , honey locust , stone oak , English oak , white oak , goat willow and elm . The beetles fly from April to July and are often found on the flowers of umbellifers , especially on wild carrots ( Daucas carota ) and Syrian hyssop ( Origanum syriacum ).
