The White Saar (French la Sarre blanche ) rises on the Hohe Donne (French Donon ) in the Alsatian Vosges. The source is located near the D993 road from Cirey to Grandfontaine at an altitude of about 710  m .

Confluence of the Red and White Saar

It flows in a north-westerly direction and is the first larger town to reach Niderhoff .

After a 26.6 km stretch of flow, it joins the Red Saar to the Saar at Hermelange , south of Sarrebourg , at an altitude of about 262  m .
