Weichenried is a district of the Upper Bavarian market Hohenwart . Until 1972 it was the seat of an independent municipality .

Geographical location

The parish village is located about three kilometers northeast of the main town of the market town on federal road 300 .

history

The Catholic parish church of St. Anna was built in 1691 over a Gothic core and redesigned in 1861. The communities Englmannszell, Eulenried, Hardt, Lindach and Schwaig also belonged to the community founded in 1818 with the Bavarian community edict. The community belonged to the district of Schrobenhausen . On January 1, 1972, it was incorporated into the Hohenwart market.
