location

The Weierhof is located two kilometers southeast of the core community in the immediate vicinity of the neighboring community of Marnheim , from which it is only separated by the federal motorway 63 .

history

Around 1120, the Weierhof belonged to the foundation of the nearby monastery Hane as an agricultural enterprise , which its founder, Werner I. von Bolanden , donated to the convent. At that time there was also a chapel supplied by the monastery. After the dissolution of the Haner Convent around 1545, the Weierhof came to secular owners.

In 1664, Elector Karl Ludwig von der Pfalz allowed the Mennonites expelled from Switzerland to resettle at the Weierhof.
