Weildorf is a district of Haigerloch in the Zollernalbkreis ( Baden-Württemberg ).

geography

Haigerloch and Weildorf are 514 meters above sea level, about halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance . The highest point of the Weildorf district is at 587 meters, the lowest at 508 meters, embedded in the foreland of the Hohenzollern Swabian Alb and 15 kilometers from Hohenzollern Castle .

The farms Birkhof and Tannenburg belong to Weildorf.

history

The village, first mentioned in a document in 786, is one of the oldest localities in the area. In the Middle Ages here a Dominican - Klause the Monastery Kirchberg resident today of which even the parish church of St. Peter and Paul testifies. The stones of the parish church of St. Mauritius in Neufra come from Weildorf .

Weildorf has 774 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2017). In the course of the municipality reform in Baden-Württemberg, Weildorf joined the town of Haigerloch on January 1, 1972 .
