The Weilerswister Mühlgraben , increasingly also called Weilerswister Mühlenbach , is an artificial 2.9 km long, orographically left tributary of the Swist in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

geography

The Weilerswister Mühlgraben is created by draining water from the Erft west of Weilerswist at an altitude of 114  m above sea level. NN . It flows in a northerly direction almost parallel to the Erft on the western edge of Weilerswist. After crossing under the federal motorway 61 , it flows around Gut Kühlseggen , where there is a connection to the circular moat of Castle Kühlseggen , and flows about 400 m further on at 106  m above sea level. NN in the Swist. The mouth of the Weilerswister Mühlgraben is about 650 m above the mouth of the Swist and Erft.

Mills

The Mühlkanal was created to supply several water mills along the course. Among other things, the Kühlseggen estate also had its own mill, and the moat there fulfills the function of a mill pond . Of the mills, only the building of the old mill in Weilerswist has survived .
