The Julius Ferdinand Kimich winery in the small town of Deidesheim in the Palatinate is a property that is classified as a cultural monument under the State of Rhineland-Palatinate's Monument Protection Act . His manor house is one of the few houses in the classicism style in Deidesheim.

history

The “Zum Löwen” inn used to stand on the site of today's manor house. During the First Coalition War , on May 24, 1794, there was a street fight between Prussian and French troops in Deidesheim; an incendiary grenade, which was supposed to hit the northeastern von Radenhausensche estate , flew too far and hit the “Zum Löwen” inn, which burned down. The last Löwenwirt Paul Kaub did not have the ruins rebuilt, but auctioned them on March 18, 1814 to Andreas Kimich. He had the manor house built with the double free staircase. Today the Arnold family, who married into the Kimich family, run the estate.

The large-volume residential building built in 1816 is a two-storey plastered building in the style of late classicism, which is located on the German Wine Route in the historic city center of Deidesheim. The main entrance on the Weinstrasse is accessed via a two-armed sandstone staircase. The middle part of the building is designed as a flat risalit and crowned by a frontispiece . The outbuildings, which are grouped around the inner courtyard, date from the 18th and 19th centuries, but have since been structurally changed. The courtyard is accessed through a sandstone gate, the metal doors of which date from this period. In the garden, which adjoins the Grottenmauergasse, there is an octagonal iron pavilion from around 1870/1880. The garden wall facing the Grottenmauergasse dates from the 18th century.
