Rudolf Fürst winery

The Rudolf Fürst winery is a Franconian wine producer in Bürgstadt .

The Fürst family has been proven to be a wine producer since 1638. The most important location is the Centgrafenberg , a purely south-facing position with red sandstone weathered soil. There are 11 of the 17 hectares of the winery. Other locations are the Bischofsberg ( Großheubach ), Karthäuser ( Astheim (Volkach) ) and the Schlossberg ( Klingenberg am Main ).

The main varieties of the company are Pinot Noir and Riesling . According to Hugh Johnson , the Pinot Noir are among the finest in Germany and the wines are the best red wines in Franconia. In addition, Frühburgunder , Weißer Burgunder and Silvaner are also produced. The current manager of the winery, Paul Fürst, is the best-known winemaker in Bürgstadt and was winemaker of the year at the Gault Millau wine guide in 2003. The winery is a member of the VDP and the Franconian Trias wineries.
