Weinstetten is a district of the Staig municipality in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . On October 9, 1972, the community of Weinstetten was renamed Staig.

The village with around 320 inhabitants is located in the Reichenbachtal .

history

Weinstetten is first handed down in 1350. The place belonged to the county of Kirchberg . After 1350 their fiefs came to the von Brunnen, von Schwendi, von Stoffeln zu Justingen families and from Ulm citizens to the Wiblingen monastery . The monastery was entitled to the lower jurisdiction .

All other sovereign rights and most of the property belonged to the county of Kirchberg until the mediatization and fell with it to Bavaria in 1806 . In 1810 Weinsteten came to Württemberg and was subordinated to the Oberamt Wiblingen .

Ecclesiastically, Weinstetten has always belonged to the Catholic parish of Staig.
