Weiser is a city and county seat in Washington County in the southwest of the US state Idaho . Weiser has 5222 inhabitants on an area of 6.1 km² and is located at the confluence of the Weiser River and the Snake River at an altitude of 647 m. The Snake River forms the border with the neighboring state of Oregon here .
history
Weiser was probably named after the Weiser River. Others claim that Weiser was named after Peter M. Weiser , a soldier on the Lewis and Clark Expedition . Another theory is that the city was named after the trapper Jacob Weiser .
