Weissenbach train station

In the Middle Ages, the village was the eastern starting point of the mule track over the Jaunpass to Bulle . The mule track is marked and accessible as a hiking trail on the east side of the pass. Today's pass road no longer leads over the village, but begins down the valley in Reidenbach . A connecting road leads from Weissenbach to Eschi , where it meets the Jaunpasstrasse. Hauptstrasse 11 , which was an important link in the Middle Ages , runs through the village .

On October 31, 1902, the Erlenbach-Zweisimmen Railway (EZB) was opened, most of which follows this road. Weissenbach train station was created in the village. The company merged on January 1, 1942 with the Spiez-Erlenbach Railway to form the Spiez-Erlenbach-Zweisimmen Railway (SEZ). Since the opening, it has been part of the operating community around the Berner Alpenbahn-Gesellschaft Bern – Lötschberg – Simplon (BLS). From this joint venture, today's BLS AG emerged in several merger steps and still operates this route today.
