The Welch Peak is a 1,010 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . On the north side of the Tapley Mountains it rises 15 km northwest of Mount Gould .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Walton Denny Welch, electrical engineer at Byrd Station in 1957.
