Wells Fargo Plaza is the name of the second tallest skyscraper in the city ​​of Houston (after the 305 meter tall JPMorgan Chase Tower ). It is currently the 24th tallest building in the United States . The 302 meter high skyscraper was designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and built between 1979 and 1983.

Since it was initially owned by Allied Bank , it was first known as Allied Bank Plaza , when it was taken over by First Interstate Bank , the name changed to First Interstate Bank Plaza , which in turn merged with Wells Fargo , giving the complex its own today's name.
