Wendelin von Maltzahn

Wendelin Freiherr von Maltzahn (born May 10, 1815 in Berlin ; † July 5, 1889 there ) was a German literary historian .

Maltzahn broke off the military career he had initially decided on, and from 1840 onwards he devoted himself to literary-historical studies in Berlin, which referred in particular to the folk song, the Silesian poetry schools and the classical period of German literature. From 1868 he lived in Weimar , later he returned to Berlin.
