Wendelinus Chapel (Mühlheim-Dietesheim)
The St. Wendelin consecrated Wendelinus Chapel is located in Dietenheim , a district of Hesse Mühlheim in Offenbach district .
History and establishment
The Wendelinus chapel in Dietesheim was first mentioned in 1450 as Heiliges Hus in the field book of the nuns of Patershausen . The chapel was a disappeared today Heiligenstock adjacent. The building made of basalt and red sandstone with a wooden porch was driven by the Dietesheimers' cattle drive in the hut forests of Biebermark . So she served the shepherds for the performance of a mass . They dedicated the chapel to St. Wendelin, the patron saint of shepherds .
The chapel was last consecrated in 1987 and renovated in 2004.
Inside there is now a statue of Saint Wendelin, the Anna Selbdritt altar that originally stood there is now in the Dietesheim parish church of St. Sebastian.
