Wennemar von Bevern

Wennemar von Bevern (* in the 15th century; † February 2, 1475 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Wennemar von Bevern came from the Westphalian noble family von Bevern , who came from the ministerial nobility and had their headquarters in Ostbevern and Westbevern in Münsterland . He was the son of Friedrich von Bevern and his wife Getrud Voet zu Kolvenburg and grew up with his siblings Agnes († 1475, ∞ Hermann Korff called Schmising), Nikolaus and Johannes , who were also canons of Munster. The family of Bevern lived until 1588, the year of extinction in the male line , to Bevern .

Act

Like his brother Johannes, Wennemar refused to sign the chapter statute on February 6, 1432. This said that the assignment of offices is only permissible to emancipated canons. Later, on April 5, 1446, he submitted and sealed the Chapter Union. He was also archdeacon of Hövel, Heessen and Dolberg. From 1460 to 1461 he was provost of the collegiate monastery St. Martini in Münster . The sources do not provide any information about his further life.
