Wenzel Bredl

Wenzel Bredl (born April 28, 1924 in Deffernik , Czechoslovakia , † September 17, 2003 ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending school, Bredl completed a commercial training from 1939 to 1942 and then worked as an employee. He was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1942, took part in the Second World War as a soldier until 1945 and was most recently taken prisoner.

After his release from captivity, Bredl worked for unions. He had worked as a legal department manager at the DGB since 1947 , became head of the legal department at ÖTV Bayern today ver.di in 1951 and head of the department for social policy and labor law at the DGB there in 1957.

Political party

Bredl had been a member of the SPD since 1948.

Bredl was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1976. In parliament he represented the constituency of Munich-North .
