Wenceslav Simeonov ( Bulgarian Венцеслав Симеонов , English transcription Ventzislav Simeonov , Italian transcription Ventceslav Simeonov , born February 3, 1977 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian-Italian volleyball player .

Career

Simeonow started his career in 1996 with Piemonte Volley . With the club he won the European Top Teams Cup in 1997 and 1998 . He then played one season each with the second division clubs Indomita Salerno and Virtus Volley Fano . In 2000 he moved to the first division team Gabeca Volley Montichiari . In the 2002/2003 season, the diagonal attacker was again active at Piemonte before moving to Pallavolo Padua . In 2004, the native Bulgarian reached the final of the Olympic tournament with the Italian national team and won the silver medal. A year later he switched to Pallavolo Piacenza . With Piacenza he lost in the 2008 Champions League final against VK Zenit-Kazan . Then he went to Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia . After another season in Padua, he was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen in 2012 .
