Vera Ivanovna Krasnova ( Russian Вера Ивановна Краснова , transliteration Vera Ivanovna Krasnova ; born April 3, 1950 in Omsk , Omsk Oblast ) is a former Soviet speed skater .

Krasnowa's best season was in 1972 when she finished second at the all- around European championships in Inzell over the 500-meter course, the only race in which she competed. In the same year she was able to win silver at the Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo over the same distance. At the end of the season she was the second time Soviet champion over 500 m. She had won her first national title three years earlier, her third and last in 1976.

As a pure sprinter, Krasnowa only took part in the all-around world championships in 1969 , but without success. The same thing happened to her in all five sprint world championships . Her best result was fourth place in 1975 in Gothenburg .

Krasnowa's last international competition was at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck when she reached fifth place over 500 m.
