The Wera Tools GmbH is in the production of screwing specialized company with headquarters and administration in Wuppertal district Cronenberg and worldwide distribution. Production has been based in Bystrice in Moravia ( Czech Republic ) since 1995 and comprises a product range of over 3000 screwdriving tools. In 2018 a branch was established in Třebíč . In addition to the Czech Republic, Wera products are also manufactured in Taiwan . The company employs over 750 people worldwide.

history

In 1936 the businessman Hermann Werner founded Hermann Werner KG as a trading company for tools. The company was destroyed in the Second World War .

During the reconstruction after 1945, the manufacture of screwdrivers was added as a business area under the management of Heinz Amtenbrink, the Werner family's son-in-law . Since 1951 the company named Vera (from Who ner and A mtenbrink). Screwdriver shafts (bits) have also been manufactured since 1963 . In 2016, WERA celebrated its 80th company anniversary. Company tools are often copied.

Since 2014, Wera has been developing a sub-brand under the registered “Tool Rebels” brand that deals with emotionalising the Wera brand. According to the manufacturer, the Tool Rebels are “defined by Wera customers and users who value Wera as developers of unusual problem solvers and therefore see them as rebels in the tool industry”.

In 2016 and 2017 Wera received the “German Brand Award” for its brand identity.
